About the Role
We’re looking for a Crew Leader to guide one of our maintenance or installation crews. You’ll run the day-to-day on the jobsite—organizing the work, setting the pace, and working hands-on alongside your team to deliver beautiful, lasting results.
This role is perfect for an experienced landscaper who’s ready to lead: someone who takes pride in quality work, enjoys developing people, and wants to grow into bigger responsibilities at a company that promotes from within.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a maintenance or installation crew, organizing daily work and keeping projects on schedule
- Set the pace and quality standard on the jobsite, working hands-on alongside your crew
- Plan and prioritize daily tasks, materials, and equipment to keep jobs running smoothly
- Train, coach, and mentor crew members on best practices, equipment use, and safety
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets Mathis Landscapes’ quality standards
- Communicate clearly with clients, office staff, and management on progress and any issues
- Drive company vehicles and equipment safely to and from job sites
- Enforce company safety policies and keep a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Help hire, onboard, and develop new team members

What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of landscaping, maintenance, or installation experience, with at least 1 year leading or mentoring a crew
- Working knowledge of both landscape maintenance and installation practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Physically fit—able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in all conditions, and stay active all day
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- A positive, team-first attitude and a desire to grow
